In 2013, the Tom Ingram Band joined forces with local guitarist Joe Boyle and percussionist Tom Kokonowski to form the group Silver Hammer - paying tribute to the music of the Beatles.
The first show was scheduled for February 9, 2013 at Crestview Country Club, paralleling the date that The Beatles first performed on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964. Mother Nature had others plans for that weekend in New England though, as a widespread snow emergency forced a rescheduling of the show two weeks later. The date change unfortunately rendered beloved Joe Boyle unavailable! The band persevered and quickly lined up local guitarist, Chris PIquette, to fill in for Joe. They premiered for a sold out performance at Crestview Country Club on February 23 with rave reviews from fans fueling them forward.
Silver Hammer's show includes a thorough cross-section of top hits and deep cuts from all periods of the Beatles' career, as well as select solo material from McCartney, Lennon and Harrison. The band is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles arrival in the United States with a tribute performance on February 1 at Crestview Country Club. Tom lives in Northampton where he also owns a law practice. He is an actor, appearing on stage, in film, and in on-line commercials. His fascination with both The Beatles and percussion began at a very early age. His fastidious studies of the auxiliary percussion in Beatles music helps add that unexpected flavor to the songs that we sometimes forget is there ... until we hear it.
